The food is very delicious. When we first arrived we were greeted and taken to our table quickly but when it came to placing the order for food it took them more than 25 minutes. There were only 4 other tables seated and none of them were large groups. Once we were seated we couldn't place an order because we weren't even acknowledged but the tables on both sides were getting their food and drinks order. Friendly staff but lack of awareness to some customers.

I've been so excited to try this restaurant after hearing raving reviews from my boyfriend and his dad. My boyfriend and I ate an early lunch here yesterday after a hike in the area. We were greeted and seated immediately. There was a party of 6 who came right before we did and there was one server so service was fairly slow. It took about 10-15 minutes before we got our complimentary water and orders in. We didn't mind the wait for our food as with all good things -- it's worth a wait. We were a bit disappointed that all of our food came out at the same time as we were waiting for the appetizer for us to start with. What we ordered: Empanadas (appetizer): We ordered all 4 of the empanadas they offer. It comes with a delicious sauce (salsa criolla, olive, and huacatay) and pickled onions. Such a fan!!! 10/10 Arroz con Mariscos (main course): Great to share for 2! Seafood was delicious and fresh. The rice is cooked perfectly (you'd be surprised how many restaurants can get this part wrong). Definitely order this one. 10/10 Platanos Maduros (side): We were both disappointed as the plantains were not ripe enough so it was difficult to eat. The flavor was there but it was a tough eat. 4/10 Cancha: SO delicious. I am now on the lookout to find these locally. 10/10 Sazon Cooler: A refreshing guava lemonade. 10/10 Overall, I'll definitely be back. There were some minor hiccups but this place has a wonderful ambiance and DELICIOUS food. Try this place out if you're in the area!

Sazón is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa and definitely one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants, ever. Case and point: a few months ago, we went to a very beautiful Peruvian restaurant in New York City - it was double the price and the food was good but my partner and I agreed that the quality, flavor, and overall preparation of the dishes still did not compare to Sazón. This restaurant has an understated interior with an incredible friendly staff including the owner Jose, who checks in regularly and, at a recent visit, ensured that we got to our movie on time. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa for a date night or celebration and we look forward to going back soon!

Had a fabulous dinner here last night and although I didn't take pictures I can confirm that everything was fantastic. Jose walked us through the menu explaining everything in detail and gave many recommendations. Our group had the following: Empanada's-we tried one of each and shared. All were light and crispy filled with fillings that were super tasty. Beef skewers (beef heart)-now I was a little scared to try it but made myself and it literally tasted like a filet. Definitely was tasty (if u wasn't to eat hearts) Pesto chicken fettuccini-probably my favorite of the meal. Very creamy and flavorable Mariscos paella- this was a different spin on paella where the rice isn't actually mixed in but more like a cioppino. Super delish. Rice was light and airy. Roasted chicken-I didn't try this but was told it was really good and I did try the salad that came with it and the dressing was something special. I just can't figure out what ingredient was used to make it so delicious. Tenderloin- another excellent meal! Comes with rice AND fries. We also ordered the mango ceviche which had whole prawns marinated in a mango sauce that had perfect amount of kick to it without being too spicy. I want to try the rest of their choices now. And lastly we had several desserts and all were really good!!

The food here was so good! It was a nice re-introduction to eating meat. I am Latine and it's been a while since I had food this tasty! I ordered the bistec a lo pobre and it was pretty darn good. There was chimichurri all over it, it was cooked to my liking (medium) and came with yummy white rice (latine style), a fried egg, and fries. The steak itself was a weird piece of meat, there was so much fat and tendons that it was difficult to eat, but I ate it all because it was delicious. I wonder if the cut has to do with the title ( a la pobre = in the style of poor people). I also tried a pisco sour for the first time. I had the maracuya flavor and it was so good, that I had to order two. My friends also enjoyed their food. I think they got the tiradito (ceviche), vegetable saltados, and platanis machos. Everyone was happy with their food. The service was very kind, helpful, and fast enough. The ambience was quiet and casual. There was a super cute and friendly black cat roaming the restaurant. This cat was mentioned in previous Yelp reviews, so I have to assume that they belong to the restuarant. I am a cat person, so I didn't mind but if you are allergic, you should take note.

It was a bit warm when we entered inside. There were a bunch of ceiling fans running, so I guess no AC. There are quite a few tables, as it's also attached to their deli. The mango ceviche was recommended by the waiter. The shrimp were quite firm, but I liked the plantain chips. The beef heart skewers were good and I liked trying the different sauces that came with it. The ahi tuna salad (Ensalada Nikei) isn't really Peruvian, but I enjoyed it. It was light and tasty. While we were eating, we spotted a black cat. It was roaming around the restaurant. My bf petted it and I saw another customer hold it. I'm not sure how I feel about it being at the restaurant. The main reason why I chose this restaurant is because I saw this place had solid reviews and I had a gift card. I was a bit annoyed when the waiter returned with the gift card and stated the machine wasn't working, so he couldn't run the card. I guess I'll have to try to use the card another day.

After several people recommended this place, we decided to stop in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Peruvian food is somewhat of a mystery to us but we knew we could get some help from our server. When we entered the restaurant doors, I noticed a few tables and the kitchen. I walked over to the doorway to the right and noticed a very large dining area. This is where we were seated. There is a deli there that serves sandwiches and other lunch items. It took us a little while to read through their menus and we asked for recommendations from our server. We finally decided on the following off of their Clasicos menu: Pollo a la Brasa - slow roasted Rocky chicken with salad and fries Adobo de Chancho - braised pork with Peruvian beans and rice Bistec a lo Pobre - grilled steak with chimichurri sauce, fries, sweet plantains, egg and rice There was a large table that was seated before us and so it took some time for our food to arrive. We were all quite hungry by the time our food was served and we were anxious to take a bite of each other's dishes. The clear favorite was the Bistec. The chimichurri sauce complemented the steak beautifully and my bite was bursting with flavor. It's a winner! We had a leisurely lunch and didn't feel rushed at all. Parking lots available in the front, back and side of the restaurant.

My first impression : we parking in the side of the restaurant. There is a beautiful mural of lama on the wall. We wait a few minutes for seating as lot of people in house before us. It is Mother's Day 5/11/24. So happy that I chose Saxon to celebrate tonight. Enjoy every bite of it. Started with Empanadas, crispy shell dipping with green sauce and red onion pickle. Yum My dish was Arroz con Mariscos : Peruvian version of paella creamy yellow rice with flavorful seafood Also, we had Sangria Roja, easy to drink. Close up with Flan and Lucuma ice cream This experience made my mother's memorable
